Facilities

Situated near the West Beach of Silloth on Solway, a quiet Victorian seaside resort, Silloth Nursing Home benefits from a peaceful setting overlooking the Solway Firth towards the Scottish Hills. We maintain strong links with the community through frequent visits from local people and the use of the Community Bus to enable our residents to attend events in the town when they wish.

The home was purpose built as a Convalescent Home and opened in 1862. Many original features such as the wide corridors have been retained. Upgrading over recent years has provided single and double bedrooms, mostly with en-suite facilities.

All the rooms are on the ground floor and have a nurse call system.

Residents are welcome to personalise their rooms with items from home if they wish.

Telephone points are situated around the home so that residents are able to use the phone to make or receive calls in their own rooms.

There are four sitting rooms, and a large airy dining room.

The dining room is also used for entertainment and the weekly coffee mornings run by our League of Friends.

A full range of moving and handling equipment is available to ensure that all our residents are able to enjoy all areas of the home.

Outside, a path suitable for wheelchairs runs all around the building, and in addition to the main gardens, there is a small yard with raised beds for residents to grow their own flowers if they wish.

Family and other visitors are welcome at any time.
