Is there anyway to automatically filter Midi files based on their quality?
We are currently working on such technology, but it has a low priority and is difficult to achieve in practice.  The best we can currently offer is a way to make the auditioning process quicker and easier.  The software does allow you to filter your midi files by their size.  We have found that the larger files tend to be of a higher quality than their smaller counterparts, though this is not always true.

Why are the search results occasionally inaccurate?
Whilst we are proud of the accuracy of Midi Harvester, like a search engine, it can sometimes produce inaccurate results.  The software can be confused if a website claims to have Midi files by a certain artist, but they actually have Midi files from various artists.  It is possible to eliminate most such problems by selecting High Search Accuracy.

The progress bar moves backwards half way through the search, what is causing this?
The program may not know exactly how many web pages to examine at the beginning of the search.  If it raises this estimate during the search, the progress bar will drop back to reflect the amount done, compared to the amount still to do.

Why are the titles of some of the Midi files muddled or don't make sense?
The software determines the title of the Midi files by looking at the text in the hyperlinks to them.  If this text is muddled, then the title in the list will also be.  The software is currently not able to filter ALL of the junk.  We are working on this, and hope to release an update soon.

Occasionally, the search seems to stall half way through, and then start again after a minute or so, why?
Certain web pages (containing errors) seem to cause this problem every so often, we are currently looking into it, and hope to have it fixed in the next version.

Why does the number of pages examined never equal the initial number 'Left to do'?
Some links to certain pages may be dead (give a 404 - page not found error).  These pages obviously cannot be examined. If the page takes an unreasonable amount of time to retrieve, it may also be abandoned.

What is making the Internet Explorer 'Splash Screen' load up whilst I am using the software?
This software reuses some Internet Explorer functionality. On some older setups (e.g. Windows 95), this can cause a splash screen to be displayed briefly from time to time.

When I download the Midi files from the list, Midi Harvester seems to be slow to respond, will this be fixed in the next software update?
Although it does not have any serious affect on the software, some people have found this annoying.  We are looking into making the process more responsive for the next update.

When can I expect an update, and what new features will there be?
We are working on a major update which should appear around August.  As well as improving upon existing features, there will be a jukebox facility.  This will make auditioning and managing your Midi files even easier.
