Spam-proof Your Web Page

stop email junk
FAQ

How does this work?
The software converts your email addresses to a complex JavaScript code. A browser like Explorer or Navigator can convert the JavaScript back into human-readable email addresses. But email spiders aren't sophisticated enough to handle JavaScript, so they can't collect the addresses to spam you with.

What if a visitor doesn't have JavaScript?
Non-JavaScript users - which make up less than 5% of users - will see a link saying 'Contact Us'.  When they click on this they will be taken to a form that allows them to send you a message.

Is there any way I can protect my whole website from spam without converting each page individually?
Not yet.  We are currently working on some software which will accept a whole directory of pages, and modify all of them.  Please join our mailing list if you wish to be notified when this becomes available.

Why does the new page source code contain a link to seafield-technologies.com?
For 2 - 5 % of your visitors the JavaScript version of the link will not work.  In order for these users to contact you we provide them with a link to our message form that they can use instead.  Click here to see the form.

This is also one of the reasons, that we can provide the service free.  By adding our link to your web page, though it is invisible to most people, it helps improve our search engine positioning.  Read more about Google PageRank if you are interested.  This in turn leads to more traffic and greater advertising revenue.  It also means we may help reduce the amount of spam in the world.

Why haven't all my addresses been encoded?
In order not to 'break' web pages, sometimes the software leaves an address that it doesn't know how to deal with.  An example of this could be when an HTML tag is not closed properly.  All pages that conform to W3C HTML standards should convert fully, and so will most other pages.

Will this stop all the spam I receive?
No.  This is one important method of preventing spam, especially if you have a large number of visitors to your website.  For more information about how email address are gathered, read this article about preventing spam.
